We all know, or should know by now, that Mercury Retrograde means fuzzy communication, travel delays or worse,  and of course, beware of signing any contracts or jumping into anything new at this point.  Maintaining plenty of sleep will absolutely help ensure you are tip top shape to flow through anything that may come your way.  Remembering the old saying Nana used to tell us, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure," and remaining diligent in your actions as well as speech, backing up your computer, or putting a damn case on that new iPhone already, will guarantee a smooth ride through this journey til April 15..

Taking a nice hot bath with sea salts, essential oils, and even flowers, can definitely help to relax one's body, mind, and spirit.  Life can sometimes get rather overwhelming, especially if you're not taking the proper care of your self.  I've learned over the years that its incredibly important to "love the skin you're in" because its the only one you get!  Self care is something that we should all be doing Everyday!

This soothing bath recipe is something that you can do for yourself or for a loved one.  Its easy to create and the cost is super cheap! 



Epsom salt, Sea salts or Himalayan pink salt

Dried flowers (can use dried rose petals from last week's holiday) 

Candles, flowers, crystals, music - for ambiance

Books, journal, affirmation cards, or similar..

a few joints or bowl with plenty of Cannabis at the ready

large glass of water or tea

snacks - fresh fruit

Ok, now to put it all together.. 

First, run the bath, make sure its the right temperature for you. I like to make it just a teensy bit hotter because I will be soaking in the tub for a while.

Once you've got your bath running at the right temp, start to add in the salts.  I love using epsom salt, it really soothes my muscles after a long week! Add your desired amount of epsom salt and or other sea salts etc. to the bath as its starting to fill, the running water will help to dissolve some of the salt crystals before you step in.  If you still have them from last week, go ahead and add a few of those rose petals into your bath. The water will revive them a little and release more of the sensuous rose aromas. 


You can add crystals to the side of the tub before the bath and be sure you only select the ones that are "water safe." Crystals like selenite will dissolve in water, so be careful!  I generally stick with rose quartz, smokey quartz, and clear quartz. 

Have you seen those bath shelves? I don't have one yet, (I know!!!) so I use a small table and sit that next to the tub for my books, journal and joints.  

Now I realize that this may sound a little "different" for relaxation, so please be sure that you surround yourself with the things that give YOU pleasure, be that a good book and a glass of wine, or just zenning out with fat blunt, this time is for you!

Once fully soaked and pruny, be sure you drain all the water and rinse all the salts from your skin in the shower.  This is actually a great time to exfoliate your entire body.  After your home spa treatment, you'll want to seal all this moisture in with some body oils or lotion.

I generally start with a few puffs of an organic raw paper joint and just breathe.  Puff and breathe, puff and breathe, the more I allow the smoke to fill my lungs the more at ease my body becomes - ready to begin the warm up and stretch out thats coming soon.  Just a few puffs more, and I begin asana.  I generally start with a few sun salutations to warm up and gradually build to more advanced practice as the flow continues on.

This is my favorite season of the year!  I take great pleasure in communing together with family and friends celebrating life and happiness.  The crisp air outside enlivens the soul and intensifies the desire to create, especially when it comes to food! 


This year we decided to infuse our Thanksgiving. Please see the post about making Canna-Butter to see how we made ours.  But we didn't want to be too baked, so enter this delicious Ginger Pumpkin Pie with Graham Cracker Crust. 

So, we definitely "Frankenstein-ed" this recipe.  We used the graham cracker crust recipe from here.. and the pie filling recipe from here..  

Perfectly Infused Graham Cracker Crust

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs (from about 9 whole graham crackers)
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, optional
  • Pinch of salt
  • 8 tablespoons Canna-Butter, melted


If you’re using whole graham crackers, finely crush them in a food processor or place them in a ziploc bag and roll with a rolling pin.  Stir graham cracker crumbs, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt together in a large bowl. Add melted butter and stir with a fork.  Press mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a 9” pie plate. Press hard to compact. You can use a glass to press the bottom, but use your fingers to press the sides.  To make a no-bake pie: Chill pie crust for at least one hour before filling. Cover if chilling longer. Make pie as directed.  To make a baked graham crust: Preheat oven to 325°.  Bake crust for 10 minutes, until it just starts to brown.  Cool completely before filling.


Pie Filling Recipe

  • 15-ounce can pumpkin puree 
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 2/3 cup dark brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons grated fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger 
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup whole milk


Whisk the pumpkin puree with the eggs, egg yolk, and brown sugar. To grate the ginger, use a piece of ginger about 4 inches long and grate to a pulp using a Microplane or fine grater. Discard the tough fibers; just use the milky juice and puree. Whisk the grated ginger, cinnamon and ginger spices, salt, and pepper into the pumpkin mixture. Add the cream and milk and whisk until smooth. Pour into the graham cracker crust.

Bake for about 50 minutes at 375°F, or just until set. Check after 30 minutes and tent with foil if the edges seem to be browning quickly. (I let mine get fairly dark, as I like the flavor!) The filling will continue to firm up after it comes out of the oven.

Refrigerate the pie after it is just cool to the touch. Let cool for at least two hours before slicing and serving.

*Note : We live in the Mile High State, so our bake time was about 90 mins to ensure it was cooked through.

Which Cannabis Concentrates are your favorite when you're studying? 

When it comes to studying, staying focused and alert is important.  But so is blowing off that steam afterward.  In this post we're going to discuss what strains work best for the crescendo of study and the elegant winding down phase that comes post a successful testing session.

One of my favorite strains for study is Sour Diesel, especially because of the cerebral energizing effects.  It doesn't give me couch-lock like other sativa strains, but I dose differently with this strain.  I like to roll up a few joints and puff on them during breaks from study.  

Tangie.  No doubt one of the best smelling cannabis strains out there with is refreshing tangerine aromas!  Most people say that even before smoking Tangie, they are instantly uplifted by the pleasant waft of citrusy orange entering their nostrils.  The high is said to creep in, but the effects are nothing to be missed.  Tangie brings on a subtle energy, not overly aggressive either so no anxiety or xxx.  Definitely expect to get some things done with this potent strain. 

So now that you're finished studying, and taking those mind bending tests, how do you relax?  With some Northern Lights of course!  Northern Lights stands among the most famous strains of all time.  This pure indica strain is famous for its psychoactive effects giving you a nice relaxing body high, soothing the muscles and taming the mind into a euphoric dreamland. Perfect for unwinding after your busy day.

If you prefer a a stronger body high after study to relax all those tense muscles and brains, survey says Girl Scout Cookies. GSC will give you a full body relaxation while releasing those bound thoughts. This strain has won numerous Cannabis Cup awards due to its amazing amounts of THC, so if you suffer from migraines or tension headaches this is the strain for you!

How do you prefer your Cannabis?

With the Legalization of Cannabis in many states and growing, we now have choices on HOW we want to consume this wonder plant.  

Many "Old School" stoners still prefer spliffs, joints, and blunts. They claim it gives them more of a down to earth, almost spiritual feel.  The sensation of the flowers breaking up between their fingertips is something stoners have felt for generation after generation.  Rolling, licking, twisting up, using your favorite method to inhale smoke is and can become such a ritual that the "vibes" just aren't right if you don't have your smoking palace set up just right.  

But this remains true for smoking out of bongs, pipes, or rigs too.  The art of smoking is something that we all have come to love and admire.  It starts from the beginning.  From the moment we reach our dispensary, or seller of choice.  The dank aromas wafting through the air,  our heart starts to beat just a little faster.  We feel excitement, elation with the knowledge that we will soon be able to hold our precious in our hands.

We glaze through the store with our eyes glistening, scanning the selection of delights that could soon be ours.  Some bud stores have magnifying glasses which you may use to "inspect" the flower or concentrates, further increasing your desire for its potency and quality.  

Once we have made our choice, we head home to enjoy the bounty we have just acquired.  This is when the fun begins.  Now is the time to choose how we want to consume our Cannabis. 

We can grind it up, roll it up, or put it in a bong or pipe. Don't forget that dank fudge bar the cute budtender talked us into last minute.  What about those lovely concentrates? Shatter glistening in the sunlight, its amber glow reminding us that Amber truly is the color of our Energy.  Flip the switch for that E-nail and wait for the titanium to heat up, grab the lighter or torch.. its time.
