Mercury Retrograde: Navigating through Turbulence with Cannabis
Mercury retrograde isn’t “negative.” It’s just that when we know our truth, we know who we are. Of course, it isn’t all rainbows and flowers. Mercury retrograde comes with the obvious annoyances, but they’re for our growth, despite how frustrating they can feel. Be patient, and expect the delays and errors in communication that are always associated with mercury retrograde.
Mercury Retrograde cycle is THE time to re-think, re-do, re-define, re-organize, re-assess, re-orient, and/or re-plan without taking action on the “new plan” until after Mercury Retrograde ends.
We all know, or should know by now, that Mercury Retrograde means fuzzy communication, travel delays or worse, and of course, beware of signing any contracts or jumping into anything new at this point. Maintaining plenty of sleep will absolutely help ensure you are tip top shape to flow through anything that may come your way. Remembering the old saying Nana used to tell us, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure," and remaining diligent in your actions as well as speech, backing up your computer, or putting a damn case on that new iPhone already, will guarantee a smooth ride through this journey til April 15..
Retrograde simply means that the planet appears to be moving backward in the sky, however it is not, its simply an illusion.
Ok, so definitely don't start any new endeavors, right? But what you should be doing, in this seemingly backward time, is revisiting old projects or degrees and certifications that you may have not finished quite yet. Art projects are usually a good thing to finish up too since the energy for revision is strong right now. Redefining goals, are a good idea, and once the energy returns, you can slingshot into success.. You will want to avoid, however, any calls, texts, etc from that EX.. they're gone for a reason and definitely not worth the headache the second time around.. Let them shrink into the unknown - you just focus on shining bright.
Having to slow down can be a good thing. You will want to be sure you are taking extra care of your mind, body & spirit during this time, as its a lovely time to go within and do a bit of house cleaning within your thoughts. Take it as an opportunity to unplug and perform the self-care you always think you're too busy to do. Meditation, yoga, running, dry brushing, massage, body, face & hair masks, plenty of sleep, and so much more will ensure that you are rejuvenated and refreshed, ready to navigate these potentially turbulent waters and catapult forward once this "season" is over.
With all this information, and energy flowing about, it can be a bit overwhelming. All the more reason to ensure you are thinking before you act/react!
So, how can we best utilize our friend Cannabis to help navigate us through this astrological event?
we've chosen some strains below that are sure to elevate your mood, maintain a sense of relaxation but keep you productive and ready for what ever comes your way
Grapefruit Diesel is a hybrid strain that is usually indica-dominant but gives most users a focused mental high that is more commonly associated with sativas. The genetics on this one aren’t hard to guess: its parents are Grapefruit and NYC Diesel. These plants show more of their indica side when growing, staying short and branchy and flowering within 8 weeks. Grapefruit Diesel’s flowers sometimes have hints of pink coloring and a potent smell of over ripe citrus fruit. With THC levels between 15 and 20%, the effects should be as strong as the scent. The energetic buzz comes on fast but tends to smooth out over time.
Golden Goat was created by accident in Topeka, Kansas, when a male Hawaiian-Romulan pollinated Mr. Dank's Island Sweet Skunk mother. The strain is often light green and pink in color, which is indicative of its Hawaiian sativa side. The scent is described as being a combination of sweet, sour, and spicy, with a tropical fruit flavor. Effects are strong and felt from head to toe, lasting about 1-2 hours. Flowering time is 9-11 weeks, with a golden appearance closer to harvest. This sativa-dominant hybrid has a THC level of up to 23% and a CBD of 1.07%.
Developed by Humboldt Seed Organization, Bubba’s Gift is a strain unlike any other. Despite being almost purely indica, this cross between Bubba Kush and God’s Gift produces functional and uplifting effects with a mild body high. Given its strong indica genetics, this sweet, fruity strain is surprisingly well-suited for daytime creative activities. Bubba’s Gift will flower in 6 weeks and can be grown indoors and outdoors.
